Cathedrals

All throughout Europe there are cathedrals built by unknown architects. These great buildings are monuments to the peoples' faith in their Church and to their God. These monuments would take over 100 years to completely construct. Generation after generation of laborers, painters, and artisans dedicated there entire lives in completion of these churches. The architect who designed them knew that he would not live to see the completion of these works.

If you ask the experts about these cathedrals they will tell you about details of carving on pillars and other hidden places that must have taken days or weeks to complete. When asked why one would go through the trouble when no one will ever see or appreciate these works. The answer is God sees .

It is commonly believed that no new cathedrals will be built within our life time. That modern day economics and societies dedication just doesn't allow for it. That modern society wants everything quick and cheap. Instant gratification is our mantra.

Well it is my belief that we must all build our own personal cathedrals. Rededicate our lives to our belief systems. The caring for a child or the deeds incorporated into our daily work at the office often goes unnoticed or unappreciated.

However, attention to detail, even when no one will ever see. Is a sign of pride, self respect, and a badge of honor. Your rewards for these actions may not come in this world. But like the artisans of the great cathedrals of Europe, your actions do not go unnoticed. And that sometimes the things that are not noticed may be your greats works of art.

Try these lines

Have you ever been in a private conversation about someone when that person comes up and wants to talk. Well you can't very well just stop talking and then look at them.(then they will know you were talking about them).

So what you have to do is quickly change the topic and the engage the oncoming person in conversation.

The following are some quick suggestions on what to say to transition out of your conversation and into theirs:

Next time try pissing out the car window.
or
I got the runs at a John Tesh concert.
or
The last time I vomited like that I couldn't eat tripe for a month.
or
And then I left a sea biscuit in the sauna and she was not happy.
or
Next time you do that stand up wind and it won't burn your eyes so much.
or
I left the $20 on the dresser and waited there until I got my change.
or
I put my Hulk underwear on today so I'm feeling quite brave but a little constricted.
